H I S T O R I C A L ! Gold and silver for SBS !

REVEUR DE HURTEBISE Olympic champion for the team, BARRON (ex – UNDERGROUND DES HAUTS DROITS) and AZUR GARDEN’S HORSES Olympic vice-champions
What an afternoon ! And what an tremendous satisfaction !
We write Wednesday in the Deodoro arena, at the end of the first round in the Nations Cup … counting for the Olympic team medals. It was undoubtedly that there was a battle to come, considering the strenght of the qualified teams. But there was already some serenity among the SBS troops, thanks to the clear first round of four representatives: REVEUR DE HURTEBISE (breeder: Séverine Siraux in B-7060 Soignies), under the sattle of the French Kevin Staut, AZUR GARDEN’S HORSES (E.O.) (breeder: N. Beaufort in B-8600 Pervijze) and BARRON (ex-UNDERGROUND DES HAUTS DROITS – breeder: M. Devos in B-6280 Acoz-Gerpinnes) ridden by McLain Ward and Lucy Davis for the American Team, and ALL-IN (breeder: B. Huijbregts in NL-4891 PV Rijsbergen) for Sweden with Peder Fredericson.
So, there was hope for the second round on Wednesday. And they did it! Greatly! A clean first round again for REVEUR DE HURTEBISE and AZUR GARDEN’S HORSES (E.O.), 4 pénalities for BARRON and a little timeout for ALL-IN. In terms of medals, meaning that Kevin Staut, the rider of REVEUR DE HURTEBISE, has Olympic gold to complete their common prize list with already the team silver of the World Equestrian Games in Caen, and the second place on the Olympic stage for Lucy Davis and McLain Ward, the riders of BARRON and AZUR. We will see them at work again on Friday as a part of the 35 pairs selected for the individual finals, of which also TIC-TAC DU SEIGNEUR (breeder: La Ferme du Seigneur in B-7387 Honnelles), with the British rider Ben Maher and ALL-IN are part of.
The adventure goes on, even if Studbook SBS and his breeders already wrote history. (CA)
