The Olympic ambitions of SBS
Special chances for six representatives
Just a few weeks ago, fourteen combinations, who met the Olympic standards, were listed on the longlist for jumping and eventing. Only a few days before the start of the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro, the final participations are known, which means the stop of the selection procedure.
Six representatives of SBS are part of the deal in jumping, and will participate to the Brazilian adventure. An important fact is also that they act as a part of the most important nations at the firmament of equestrian sports.

The USA team will be for 50 % SBS, thanks to BARRON (ex-UNDERGROUD DES HAUTS DROITS – For Pleasure/Nabab de Rêve – breeder: M. Devos in B-6280 Acoz-Gerpinnes), ridden by Lucy Davis and HH AZUR GARDEN'S HORSES (E.O.) (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve/Sir Lui – breeder: N. Beaufort in B-8600 Pervijze), under the saddle of McLain Ward. This first 12 years old has a very strong curriculum vitae, along with bronze for the team at the WEG 2014 in Caen and and lots of places of honor and victories in CSI*****, World Cup and Global Champions Tour. The second – 10 years old – is undoubtedly the rising star at the jumping firmament on world level with around 10 victories over 1m50 and more since 2015 and a second place in the WBFSH ranking from may 2016. And this is of course only the beginning …
REVEUR DE HURTEBISE (Kashmir vh Schuttershof/Capricieux des Six Cences – breeder: S. Siraux in B-7060 Soignies) and Kevin Staut are since many years important players with lots of experience in the French team. As part of the teamsilver at the WEG 2014 in Caen, they acted brilliantly on the highest level and in Nations Cups. So, REVEUR is almost an evidence on Olympic level with his 15 years of age.
H&M ALL-IN (breeder: B. Guijbregts in NL-4891 PV Rijsbergen), a son of Kashmir vh Schuttershof and ridden by Peder Fredricson, is a very promising youngster for the Swedish team. The combination is a real challenge and a very promising combination for Rio.
And of course, we were waiting for HELLO SANCTOS VH GRAVENHOF (Quasimodo vd Molendreef/Nabab de Rêve) – breeder: W. Taets in B-9971 Lembeke), as a part of the British team. He was the best horse of the world in 2014 and 2015. But we had also the SBS born and approved stallion UTAMARO D’ECAUSSINNES (Diamant de Semilly/Quidam de Revel – breeder: Les Ecuries d’Ecaussinnes in B-7190 Ecaussinnes). It will be TIC-TAC DU SEIGNEUR (Clinton/Darco – breeder: La Ferme du Seigneur in B-7387 Honnelles), former Belgian champion which finally found in Ben Maher the right partner to consolidate his tremendous skills. Needless to say that we are waiting to see all of them at work in the arena of Deodoro.
And finally, the Spanish coach decided to trust U-WATCH (President/Nabab de Rêve – breeder: R. Coolen in B-3680 Maaseik) and Manuel Fernandez Saro. As a young fellowship since the end of 2015 they are going strong. Their victory for Spain in the Nations Cup of Lissabon in june 2016 and their fine results of the last weeks are very promising. This last selection is the most surprising of 2016, and she has certainly a lot of surprises for all of us.
Anyhow, these Olympic selection is certainly the most important and the most qualitative for SBS until now. In fact, we can already call this a victory! So, we will follow the Olympics with lots of passion starting from Saturday 6th of August for eventing and as from Sunday 14th of august for jumping. Because we need to be prepared for a medal ! (CA)
