A festival of winning rounds and double zeros
This was again a very fertile weekend with lots of victories and important performances. It really becomes a pleasant habit !
As usual, CSIO Rome (ITA) and Lissabon (POR), but also CSI*****GCT Chantilly (FRA) monopolized much of the attention. And it’s a fact that the SBS representatives gave again the best of themselves. Anyway, we don’t return to their nice performances in the Nations Cup and Grand Prix, as this was already nicely done elsewhere. Let’s take a look to their results on other proof sheets.
The weekend started very nicely at CSIO***** Rome with a victory in a test for 7 year olds for D'EXTRA HEDONISTE (Ogano Sitte/Argentinus – breeder: D. Leys in B-2500 Lier), ridden by Guido Franchi (ITA), and the classification in a test over 1m50 for the SBS approved stallion BALOU DE COEUR JOYE (Balou du Rouet/Argentinus), under the saddle of Lorenzo De Luca (ITA), but also for CASANOVA DE L’HERSE (Ugano Sitte/Kashmir van Schuttershof – breeder: M. Bar in B-7063 Chaussée Notre Dame), with François Mathy Jr. (BEL)
Let’s move from the shadow of Villa Borghese to the castle of Chantilly and the tremendous double zero over 1m40 jumped by ANAYA DE STE-HERMELLE (E.O.) (Andiamo/Paladin des Ifs – breeder: Elevage de Ste-Hermelle in B-6181 Gouy-lez-Piéton), under the saddle of Caio Carvalho Filho (BRA) and from BALI DE L’HERIBUS (E.O.) (Vigo d’Arsouilles/Fidji du Fleury – breeder: Heribus Farm in B-7080 Noirchain), ridden by Maximilien Lemercier (FRA), and the victory she took just 24 hours later. Meanwhile we find ARSOUILLE DU SEIGNEUR (Shilling/Chellano Z – breeder: La Ferme du Seigneur in B-7387 Honnelles), with Robert Breul (FRA) in the palmares of the Grand Prix***** (1m60) and BRENTANO D’AMAURY (Wandor vd Mispelaere/Darco – breeder: C. Mandrilly in F-59199 Hergnies) with Guillaume Foutrier (FRA) in the palmares the CSI** (1m45).
But, it’s not only in Rome, Lissabon and Chantilly that good things happened. At CSI** Reims (FRA), BOLERO WISBECQ (Quick Step Wisbecq/Landwind – breeder: C. Arroyave Fernandez in B-1428 Lillois) was sparkling under the saddle of Dayro Arroyave (COL), taking the victory in two tests. At CSI** Bonheiden (BEL), another BOLERO, here with the affix 111 (Chatman/Darco – breeders: H. Theewes & E. Mertens in B-2240 Zandhoven) this time, confirmed in the little Grand Prix over 1m45 with his Irish rider Darragh Kenny.
Finally, on the other side of the Atlantic at CSI** Palgrave (CAN), the Canadian rider François Lamontagne – by the way – the career designer of BARRON (ex-UNDERGROUD DES HAUTS DROITS – For Pleasure/Nabab de Rêve – breeder: M. Devos in B-6280 Acoz), and more recently of CHANEL DU CALVAIRE (E.O.) (Luccianno/Kashmir van Schuttershof – breeder: A. Dujacquier in B-7091 Braine-le-Comte), was the one that made us discover CAMIL DU PARC DU MENOBU (Del Pierro P&B/Or de Mai- breeder: M-C. Fatzaun in B-4910 Theux), winner at CSI** Caleon (CAN).
At the end of this weekend, the SBS horses and approved stallions figured at the palmares of a dozen Grand Prix, all categories mixed. A real performance after all. (CA)
